Need a laptop in 500-700 range , with a quad core and dedicated GPU

Basically I need a decent laptop at a reasonable price for some medium amount of gaming but nothing heavy , I like it snappy as well so dual core is a no-no.

Any suggestions? I don't care if its Windows 7 or 8 so no worries there.
 
very interested in what people come up with regarding his request, as I have a similar and am horrible at shopping for new laptops.
 
Seems like I might be asking for too much.

I can extend my maximum up to 800 but that's it.

Any suggestions are welcomed.

What are you doing specifically where a dual core processor gives you slow performance?

Used Asus G73 or G75. I have a G73, it has a i7-720 with an ATI 5870, still a very capable video card. It cost me about $500 on ebay. I added a SSD and it's very snappy.
 
Why do you need a quad-core and not a dual-core specifically? Saying you want a "snappy" laptop isn't really explaining your need for a quad-core. If you want a "snappy" feel the best way to get it is to buy an SSD.

Less than $100 more than that HP and you get a 1080p IPS screen, Ivy quad, 2GB GT 640M (for comparison my GT 640 1GB model overclocked 95%, 975MHz from the stock 500MHz core). And it weighs less than 4.5lbs (HP weighs in at 6.7lbs).

You can try that one, but linking to Sony's site is notoriously bad. You'll probably have to go to sony.com and select "Outlet" under "Special Savings", then laptops, then I usually select 1920x1080 screens and start looking for SVS15xxxxx models.
15.5" 1080p IPS, check more details to see CPU, GPU, RAM, HDD ect.
SVS151290 = Win 8
SVS151190 = Win 7

SVT15xxxx is a different model, ULV processors, no dedicated GPU.
