The following factors are involved.

1. Some Microsoft Windows 8.x tablets come with Microsoft Office 2013 Home and Student Edition.

2. Bring your own device (BYOD) scenario for some users
---------------------------------------

From Microsoft perspective, kindly clarify

1. Are you able to use these tablets in business environment?

2. If BYOD users use these tablets in Business environment?

If the scenario is not acceptable to Microsoft, does that imply Microsoft has business-oriented configuration guidelines for them?

The BYOD scenario is ambiguous because work does not control software on those devices.

Thanks.

I think much of this thread can be resolved by learning the differences between Windows 8 and Windows RT.

Edit: Looking into portable devices, either provided by the company or BYOD, needs to be an internal discussion with the IT team. The demand for this is increasing from all levels of employees, and there does need to be a conversation about developing a policy that is congruent with security and access concerns when weighed against the company's business market and responsibilities. (ie: Prevent intellectual property loss, traffic segregation, internal app store creation, etc.)
