Maven Error??

I am receiving this error when I try to run my code. Can anybody help me with fixing this? Also can somebody tell me what Maven is?

Maven is a build tool. It allows the execution of build goals, like resolving dependencies, compiling, running unit tests, creating and publishing artifacts and deploying.

As far as the error goes, however, the stack trace clearly states that you don't have access to the MySQL database under the account that's being used (root@localhost). The reason it's also mentioning Maven is that you have a maven goal to execute the program.

Check your database configuration and see if you can either give root access to the database, or tell the program to connect with a different account that has access.

Thanks I figured it out. I did not have an instance of the database running.
