My mom has a Dell E310 and I need to get a videocard for it. Right now it has Intel GMA900 or some crap that doesn't support much of anything. It only has regular PCI and a PCI-E 1x slot. I was looking around newegg and they have a PCI-E 1x RadeonX1300. Other than that, it looks like the only other cards I can get are FX5200's and ATI9200's. This will mostly be used for DOTA and World of Warcraft. Should I splurge on that X1300 that costs twice as much as everything else or should I just get a cheapy 5200?

how often is this stuff going to be played? if not much, then go cheaper. If it's frequent, then spend some money.

There is no fx5200 pcie that I know of, you can use a PCI one, I guess, but a Radeon 9250 (or GF 6200 PCI) is better...

I did a quick google. It seems like the Dell e310 has neither a 16x PCIe slot nor an AGP slot. You can't use a 16x PCIe card in a 1x PCIe slot (for the most part).

I think there's some cards that you can plop into the PCIe slot given some hard modding...couldn't find a link though.

EDIT: Didn't realize that the there was a 1300pro PCIe x1 card out there (very new).
Found a benchmark for you:

Looks like the x1300pro is a lot faster than a 6200. I'd go that route if you want to spend the money. Or get a Radeon 9250 on the cheap (about 1/3 the price).

9250 @ Monarch, $53:
