Hello wonderful tech peoples!

I just bought the Sapphire HD7750 2GB version for $110 after taxes and it has already been shipped to me. However, I just saw the Sapphire HD7770 1GB for $114 before taxes.

Should I return the HD7750 and get the HD7770, is there a big difference between the two? I bought the HD7750 just as a hold-me-over card for now since I had been using an ancient HD4550 and I can't afford a GTX 660 Ti (or better) just yet.

Thanks!

it takes only a few seconds to google reviews and see exactly how much faster a 7770 is over the 7750.

and 2gb on a 7750 is pretty much money wasted as that card will not be running games at settings that need more than 1gb. so yes I would get the 7770 1gb over the 7750 2gb.

you really need to list all of your current specs though including exact power supply and resolution when asking for gpu advice.

I did do a Google search.

These are my specs as i can remember them.

Core i7 920, Stock.
12GB RAM
PSU 750W

1920x1200.

I saw some synthetic results but was looking for a more real world take on these cards.

well the reviews will have real world testing and its clear that a 7770 is about 30% faster than a 7750 at 1920.

and do you not have a gpu now? and again you need to list the exact power supply that you have not just the watts. of course in this specific case you dont need much power but in general you should always be detailed as some psus are just overrated crap.

I have a GPU which is the HD4550 but its not cutting it any more (obviously).

Exact Specs would be:

Dell 2405 1920x1200 (Still kicking)
Windows 7 64bit
Core i7 920 2.66GHz
Asus Sabertooth X58 LGA 1366
12GB G.SKILL Ripjaws PC3 12800
Antec 650W TruePower
150GB Raptor 10,000 RPM
Audigy 2 ZS Platinum(Still suffices)

All inside an Antec case, not sure of the model though.

Edit- In the mean time though, within the $100 - $150 range, which is a good card to have?

Honestly, I would look at a used 6870 before a new 7770. Or even a used GTX 560 Ti if you are feeling green.

I have a spare 6750 for near half that $114 if you want something to hold you over. But if you're going to spend $100+, yeah a used 6870 is your best bet. Can probably be had for $100-$125
