i7505 + 2003 driver problem

Got 2003 Web up and running on the box in the sig...but much to my dismay the OS appears to not support the chipset despite claims to the contrary...and lack of any installation tool to fix the problem.

Problems include lack of response when doing anything with my ATA disks, super-slow ATA transfers, buffer underruns to my burner no matter what the source etc.

Anyone have a clue what I should replace/reinstall or where I can get something to rectify the situation?
