I just purchased a new gtx1080 to replace my gtx770 and under load the machine is shutting down. I've tried the other pcix power cable, same thing. Put the graphics card in another machine and it works fine.

Replacement options?

I don't feel I need a 850W psu for an overclocked 4690k, z97n-wifi (ITX) , 8gb ram and a gtx1080. I think 650W should be enough.

EVGA Supernova G2 650W - $99
or
Seasonic USA PRIME 650W - $149

Any opinions on one over the other aside from price?

PRIME has better output quality, but most likely won't benefit you 99% of the time. I believe it also has a longer warranty.

Thank you for the quick reply. Just to add a PSU that I read the hardocp review on, would you recommend the Seasonic USA Platinum over these? My local Microcenter has it for $119.

Pretty much same answer, except the EVGA has a longer warranty and the performance gap is smaller.
