How good is this processor?

Well my brother's girlfriend is looking at buying laptop that has a AMD Turion 64 in it and i would like know how good this is for the laptop. All she is using it for is just general use for college like watching movies typing. How good is it to the centrino and pentium m processors? I know it will be able to do the genral use but i would like to know if it would be better just to go with a centrino or pentium m.

Think it's somewhat slower than a comparable Pentium-M but still better than any other mobile chip.

Turion or Pentium-M would be fine for what you are looking to do. Pentium-M is better by a bit. In the end it would probably not be all that noticeable to your brother's girlfriend. The Turion would be fine for her if she likes that laptop.

I'd go with a Centrino, personally.


I'm going to be running a Turion in a week or so...
