Why not just a button?

You want impressive? Make a beer dispenser that dispenses beer after getting 5 kills in a FPS
 
This is cool but as I'm not a beer drinker....
I'd be more interested in a girlfriend that could pee Jack'n'Coke for me. Oh well, perhaps maybe future tech will give us Data-like androids with this feature.
 
So what happens if your hand is in the retract area of the handle when you remove your beer?

Exactly. It seems more complicated than it's worth. Now if they implemented a glycol system and ran it 50 ft into a bar room where all it takes is for the the beer glass to be placed below the tap, then that would be cool.
 
Nothing like serious uselessly cool stuff ! Reminds me of a cousin who had an old full size fridge in a room just off the kitchen. He had a keg inside with a pull handle on the door and a large stash of frosty mugs in the freezer compartment above. Drank alot of beer from that setup. Cool post Steve.

/eyes current beer fridge 6 feet away ...
 
Am sure glad that we gave them MILLIONS of tax dollars so they can play around with our electronic parts.
