GT 710 screen goes black

Bought a new EVGA GT 710 for basic video for a older system.
Latest drivers, screen goes black randomly and the system needs hard reset.

I thought it might be the HDMI cable so I switched back to DVI, same thing.
Tried older drivers, did it again.

It certainly is not overheating, runs at around 85F.

Faulty card? If it's faulty I am 0/2 with EVGA.

All stock, standard 60Mhz

The ancient EVGA 9400GT it replaced never had issues besides
the OEM fan dying to which I fixed.

Not much, just a warning about the Nvidia display driver stopped responding and recovered.
Apparently when it recovered the screen went black since the only way to get video back is to reboot..

unexpected shutdown log time is precise.
