Google is trying to bring Wi-Fi to India via its Project Loon balloons. UFO sightings in that country are expected to rise accordingly.


Rajan Anandan, Google's managing director for India, told the Economic Times that Google has been in talks with telecommunication firms to collaborate on Project Loon, which sees high-altitude balloons beam speedy Wi-Fi down to remote areas in developing countries.

 
Why are they "magic"? Seems needlessly snarky especially if they actually function.
 
Isn't there something in the bible about the end of times being when the message reaches every part of the world? Maybe they should slow down with this...

And trying to steal money from poor people in India, what the heck man! I'm thinking they would just be happy with some toilets or clean water.
 
Why not use it in our own country to bring high speed internet to rural areas?
 
Because when you have tons of money it doesn't feel as good as helping poor(er) people.

They probably also have considerably less laws that get in the way of their 'philanthropic' experiment. Work out the kinks. Cash cow. Mooo$$$
 
India is still trying to convince a large portion of their population not to poop in the streets, sidewalks, and train rails and to use toilets. UNICEF literally plays ads like this on national television there. Seems to me that potty training would take priority over concerns about wifi coverage, and being an American company it would make more sense to adopt the MAGA slogan and use it in remote areas around here first.
 
How long does it take the balloons to blow off the border of India? Seems like for something like this to work, they need to launch a shit load of balloons every day for coverage. Then people would saturate the links requiring more balloons... After that the balloons just wank off in the atmosphere for the next 30+ days.
 
Maybe they should put their effort into ridding Typhoid, Malaria and Hepatitis A, and tuberculosis first. That and stop shitting in the water they bathe in.
