I have all my parts and I'm ready to build. One problem I have is the HS.I talked with Cooler Master live Chat, but I'm still wondering....If anyone has any knowledge of installing or adding another fan to this HS.I would really appreciate the help!I am using a Coolermaster Hyper 212+ HS.I will be using 2 fans for push and pull.I know one fan should connect to the cpu fan header on the motherboard, but I'm not sure about the second fan.
Miguel : Thank you for contacting Cooler Master. My name is Miguel. How may I assist you today?
toostrike :
I watched the the video on installation.I understand you need to put on the back plate first. Then mount the HS.
Then install the stand offs and nuts, and tighten in opposite corners until tighted.
My question is with spider clip.It has 5 screws 2 on each end,and one in the middle. Is the screw in the middle just a guide pin.It does not say or show in the video if the middle screw tightens.
Miguel : yes the middle screws needs to be tighten
Miguel : you have to push down and tighten
toostrike : I dont see how.Its a spring clip All it does is spin around when I turn the screw
Miguel : you have to press down
toostrike :If I press down on the spring and turn It just pops back to its normal position
Miguel : it not going to give it a lot of pressure just enough so that the cooler does not shake
toostrike : Ok, what about the metal pin that sticks out on the top of the base of the heatsink.
toostrike : the metal pin I'm talking about is 2- 8ths of an inch from the guide hole
Miguel : your working on the hyper 212+ correct
toostrike : yes
Miguel : sorry about that the little pin next to the guide hole correct
toostrike : yes
Miguel : on the bracket you will see that there are grooves that match to fit with that pin
toostrike : Ok But it sure is confussing. The video does not show any of this, and the directions with the heatsink are worthless
toostrike : I still dont understand how the guide pin tightens though.
toostrike : One other question. If I had a second fan can I hook the second fan up to a molex connecter on the power supply
Miguel : yes
toostrike : So I do not have to control the fan speed with the motherboard.Wont this affect one fan being controlled by the motherboard, and one fan going 100%.I dont understand?
Miguel : it will affect the air flow but not much
toostrike : Ok thank -you.Have a nice day
