Can someone AI-upscale this image for me in a quality way?

Can someone do this for me? I want to use a better-looking version of this 1080p image as a 1440p desktop background, but I don't know how to ask the AIs: https://wall.alphacoders.com/big.php?i=566586

I tried a few free online upscalers, and they keep blurring parts of the image, or even nearly the whole thing:

Thanks! Some of that image looks better than the first image I posted, while other parts look worse. But what I might try to do is cut the parts that look better, and blend them into the first image I posted. That should make it look pretty good!
 
Have you tried a "dumb" upscaler already? There are some pretty good ones out there -- pick your favorite image editor and it probably includes more than a few built in.

Cool. Did these use AI, or just are these just stretched to 1440p? The first one has a bit of a colour adjustment, while the second looks like it's the original image just stretched to 1440p. It shows that all the AI upscales lose some of the original character, but the stretched image is unsatisfyingly blurry.


I think the way to get the closest to a sharp-looking, high-res version of the original using these images would be to make an amalgamation of a 4k upscale from this site, which the first image in the OP is a 1440p version of, and the version made by M76. I'd probably use the large tree and some of the forests from the website upscale, and the rest from M76's. And I like the planet in grim4593's, so I might use that.

I used Topaz Gigapixel.
I just looked at both again and the one named 3840 was downscaled from the website, I chose 3840 in the link you provided, and it looks really close to the 1080p one.
I noticed that the other file I did which was upscaled from 1080p lost detail on the center part of the large tree.

I think that 4k image on the site is just stretched to 4k. I got what I think is an identical-looking result to the second image in your first post by stretching the original 1080p image to 1440p.

That seems perfect, as if it's an actual original 4K version of the original artwork. Which tool did you use, and does it have teh AIs?

But on the bright side, the future will be much crisper!

AI just seems to do a much better upscaling job. imageenlarger.com's 4k upscale seems to be not very different than just stretching the 1080p image to 4k, with a soft blur effect to remove obvious pixels. But that doesn't look very good, or as good as I'm wanting it to.

Here's a comparison between imageenlarger.com's upscale (left) and the upscale by cjox (right) - tho the forum reduced the uploaded image size and massively reduced the file size, so it'll be lossy.

No other filters applied, although I guess a pro could improve the quality of the final image if they did so before down-scaling the image, or by using other interpolation settings during scaling.

I almost figured that out. I'm not familiar with the upscaler names, and I thought that could either be the case, or it could just be a funky misspelling of "upscale". I opted to assume that it was just funky typing for "upscale". :ROFLMAO:

But that upscale job is the one. I tried doing it myself, with your settings, and got the same result. That Upscayl is free and open-source is awesome.

I mean, tbf, the original image is pretty blurry. Looked better to me than the ones that add white fuzz in random places, but that's just my preference. If you did a pass with a sharpen filter before downscaling, that'd probably clear it up a bit. I might do that when I get home.
