Best OC'able P4?

As far as FSB usually the 2.4C. For raw speed, the 3.0, 3.2, and 3.4 seem to all top out around the same place.

cheers on the 2.4c, i have one running at 3.2 ghz rock steady, probably could go even higher

i have a Celeron D 2.53 Ghz (im cheap) @ 3.1ghz aka 166FSB... i would go higher but i have crappy pc2700 ram in an albatron board and the lowest multi for ram is 2x :(

makes a nice little lan server

My 2.4c is running at 3.4. Get some good ram, some good cooling and unleash the fury. I am a huge amd fan but i do agree with what [H] said about hyperthreading and overall smoothness. I think that the 2.4c is the best budget cpus around and can be oc'ed to monster speeds.

2.4 is good, had one that did 3.0ghz on stock voltage
now i have 2.8 at 3.5ghz on stock voltage.
usually better luck with 2.4's i think

I have a Celeron D 2.66G that runs rock solid at 3.6G (35% overclock), stock fan, voltage at 1.4375V instead of 1.4V. Idle at 38degrees, under load (prime95) at 49degrees.

I also have a 2.4A prescott that runs at 3.4G (42% overclock), stock fan, voltage at 1.4375V. Idle at 40degrees, under load (prime95) at 51degrees.

I also have a Celeron D 2.4G (I'm building a couple of PCs for other people) that runs at 3.0G (25% overclock, it runs at 3.2G but fails prime95) Idle at 36degrees, under load (prime95) at 49degrees.

The Celeron D 2.66G is made in Malaysia (35% OC), but the Celeron D 2.4G (25%OC) is a bit disappointing, made in Phillipines. I'm not sure if the place of manufacture has any significance for Celeron Ds.

The 2.4A prescott was made in the Phillipines.

my 2.0a P4 northwood can run all day and all night at 2.67ghz with the stock voltage

133.5fsbx20 = 2670mhz

3.0c! mines at 4ghz on air! I had an 2.4c also but i could only get it to 3.2.

what stepping and pack date on your cpu? I have a 3.0C but looking for another in the quest for 4Ghz

A good 2.4C will go higher than 3.6Ghz...you will have to voltmod the NB to get over 304FSB with an Intel rig...

My SL6WK hits a easy 3.8 on air water gets me 4ghz with good ram(cpu tested with better ram in a water cooled pc)

AND NOW!......ONE FOR THE DREAMERS......;) keep on ocing guys...we make the world go round and AMD mad.

one for the dreamers2.JPG

NOT, not not not not not not etc. NOT the p4 3.06 533 fsb northbridge (northgate?) (R) processor. I got it up to 3400 ghz be4 it hanged at boot. i am leaving it at stock speeds now since It runs good enuf there.
