Athlon or Pentium 4?

I can't decide what to get, Athlon 64 or Pentium 4.

I've already got a gig of DDR RAM (Kingston Value), and a 6600GT AGP card, so I'm somewhat limited in my motherboard choice.

It's either an MSI Neo2 Plat, or an ABIT AS8, as far as I can tell, with the subsequent processor. I just can't decide

always A64!
AMD pwns U for everything but video editing(intel p4 expensive edition but its a heat MONSTER) and low heat(VIA Epia but i dont think u want mini itx)
