I'm curious. Why did you mount the top row with a big gap between it and the lower row?
I game on the lower row, the extra screens are for my day trading work so the gap is ok for me

Very happy with my PG279Q as well - no major issues, great picture, slight BLB but not too noticeable - overclocked to 165 Hz and gaming on it is great. I was on the fence about buying it but after several weeks with the display I am really enjoying it.
If you don't notice any problems, don't go looking for anymore. Don't look for flaws if your happy with the monitor.
Exactly. Many wouldn't even have known about the "flaws" if they hadn't have read forums like these!
The flaws with uniformity on my PG279Q were very obvious.
Here are comparisons between the X34 I'm using now vs PG279Q, I had both calibrated to 6500K, 120 cd/m2

question...are those taken on auto or fixed settings? If you didnt program white balance, ISO, aperture, and so on then those photos are pointless for comparison.
if both screen were in the same picture thats a different story plus angles are different too
I just got one of these and it was made in July 2015. Default settings were 80/60/100/100/100. Anyone else get one lately?
Man, what is the deal with these things? Impossible to find anywhere. Did Asus do a "quiet recall", and halt sales until they fix the BLB issue?
I just sold my PG278Q to pick one of these up, and gaming on 60hz is making me so sad.
I bought a PG279Q a week ago, here is my experience with it so far:
BTW 7200 is not gamma...i dont even think gamma goes that high even on paper.
That is the forgetting the term...ah color temp
None of the websites had it in stock in my country, I made a special order and they ordered it from a higher layer distributor. The wait was not that bad thou, only waited for it about a week. This is in Europe and I paid 842 EUR for it - ouch.Where'd you find it in stock? I can't find one anywhere.
Just snagged one from New Egg. Please don't let it suck.
NIB, or one of their open boxes?
NIB? not in box?
New. In box.
Wondering if the issue I'm seeing with my PG279Q is being seen by others...
I'm seeing a big issue with enabling ULMB with the monitor.
- I set the refresh rate of the monitor to 120hz via the windows display panel - everything works fine.
- I then enter the monitor's menu using the joystick/buttons - everything is still fine.
- I select and enable ULMB - everything is still fine.
- I then exit the on-screen menu - EVERYTHING IS NOT FINE. The screen goes black, and I can see the desktop VERY faintly (I think the backlight may be turned off)
- I then turn the monitor off via the power button and let it sit for 5 seconds
- I then turn the monitor back on via the power button and my desktop will come back - ULMB is also now enabled
- If I do anything with the on screen menu, it does the same thing when exiting the menu - screen goes black. And I have to power cycle the monitor to get anything back.
I am running a 970GTX and the latest drivers. Monitor is connected via the DP cord that came with it.
Should I RMA?
you need to set the settings for ULMB and how logn to stroke and what brightness level. You have to use 100% brightness or it will be basically a black screen and when using ULMB always play in the dark.
read this

Totally familiar with ULMB. I had a PG278Q before and it worked fine. Strobe length is set to 100 and brightness is 100%.
When I say that the screen is black, I mean really really black, not just dim.
*Shrugs* sounds like its at the lowest setting to me. Is it not keeping the setting? like you set it and it defaults to super low?
I've had mine for almost a month now. Havent tried ULMB but this makes me want try it to test if it works properly. I'll post some findings when I get around it since we are in the process of moving.Nope, it's like the backlight is entirely off. The monitor keeps the setting of 100 strobe length when i check the menu, but when i exit the menu, it goes black again until a on/off reset. Oh well, if no one else is seeing this, i guess its bad hardware and i'll RMA.
let me know how it works. follow the TFTcentral review.I've had mine for almost a month now. Havent tried ULMB but this makes me want try it to test if it works properly. I'll post some findings when I get around it since we are in the process of moving.
I am thinking of grabbing one of the Amazon Warehouse Deals monitors. They have a few that seem pretty cheap, I'm guessing people returned them since they don't understand how IPS displays are supposed to look.
