Going back to school, and I don't want to drop $800+ on a laptop just to take notes and do a bit of coding (CS degree).
Are netbooks still a viable option? Like I mentioned above, it would just be used for notetaking, coding, and light web-surfing. If any other alternatives are suggested, I'd like the price to be < $400. I thought about tablets, but I can't imagine the coding apps to be practical.
