I've now reinstalled win 7 64bit ultimate 3 times now, deleting the partition, formating, installing.
When i get into Windows, i have a 55.7gb drive and 5.15gb free.
I've checked system restore and it's using 304mb(1%) disk space.
I've manually looked at the Windows folder which reads roughly 11gb, ive checked program files x86, documents, everything i know, i do not know wtf is going on here.

Windows takes up 11gb, I should have near 40gb of free, what is eating my drive space?

Any suggestions? Im at a complete loss.

How much memory do you have? You probably have a hibernation file (same size as RAM) and a pagefile that is a substantial fraction of the installed RAM taking up space. You can disable hibernation (link below) and set a smaller manual pagefile size to free up some of that space. Use something like WinDirStat to check what is actually using up the space.

Edit: I see you have 24GB of RAM - so the hibernation file is going to be taking up 24GB on your SSD.
