8800GTS 512 to Radeon 4890... not impressed.

I went from an X1950XTX to a GTX 285.. and damn... it's good to be green again.

Of the two systems in my sig, guess which one I game with now.

4890>8800GT SLi

Even taking the place of my 8800 setup in my 650i rig, the 4890 is a clear winner.

Yeah.. there is definitely something wrong with my particular card then. RMA is in progress right now.

I just put my 8800GTS back in to its Overclock of 750core/1100mem and I ended up with this:

almost 1500 more 3dmarks then the 4890 and i can still play crysis all day long above 30 fps at 1440x900 on high settings.

Now i just have to decide what i want to replace it with.

5850 and flash it with 5870 bios.... But you gotta find a 5850 first.

I think the RMA was the right thing I went from a 3870 to 4890 and the difference was huge.

keep up posted when you get the new card and with more game benchmarks.

actually, against the 7950gx2. its was x1900xt vs 7900gtx. better anisotropy vs better anti aliasing.

Well, whether or not the 7950GX2 was a better card than the 7900GTX is highly debatable, i think I was doing the green team a favor by dicounting the GX2 ;)
