On a 7970 (I have the Powercolor AX7970 3GBD5-2DHV3), which DVI port is Dual-link? It only comes with a quick install guide which is useless. I Assume it is the top one but that is really just a guess.

I believe its the one with the -- prong with the 4 pins

the other slot will only have the -- prong

Hrm I took a quick look and both ports looked the same, guess I will have to check again.

For that card, neither are dual link. It's DisplayPort or bust if you're going over 1920x1200. Sucks, but that's how it is.

um no but nice try..

4096 x 2160 (HDMI)
4096 x 2160 (DisplayPort)
2560 x 1600 (DL-DVI)

above part is right off neweggs site for the original posters specific card.. if only 1 of them is dual link then its the top port same as the 6970 but check both of them just in case. the reason the MSI card doesn't have dual link DVI is due to the 4 mini display ports.

I have a Powercolor V3, not a Lightning. And one port is clearly specified as DL, it just doesn't say which one.

http://www.powercolor.com/global/products_features.asp?id=398#Specification

DL-DVI-I/ SL-DVI-D / HDMI / MINI DPx2

VGA 2048x1536
DVI 2560x1600
DisplayPort 4096x2160
HDMI 4096x2160

... why not just try out both?

You could've had your answer in about 30 seconds by doing so, and if your display can't utilize DL-DVI, then what does it matter?

Was just checking for future reference, because I have a 120hz on order.
