6950 Crossfire or new card

I currently have a 6950, and am starting to struggle in some of the newer games (I also run at 1440p).

Would it be better to buy another 6950 and do Crossfire, or just buy a new card?

Edit: Crossfire not SLI :)

New card all the way.. Whats ur budget?.. 6950 its actually so old and not worth the hassle to achieve a performance that a actual good midrange card would easily perform and surpass.. My vote its always for buy the strongest single card that your money can buy..
 
If you could find another 6950 for dirt cheap I'd give it a go but otherwise I'd get a new card.
 
I'd personally save up for a r9 290 or gtx780 non-ti before investing in older hardware.
 
I decided to just bite the bullet and order a 290x. Got it for like $450 on newegg (open box).

I'm in the same boat. Currently playing whatever games im interested at like 40 average maxed out. I've decided to wait on maxwell but this thread.....
