I won a contest at work and get to spend up to $250 at newegg on any SSD drive I want.

I haven't looked into SSD's in awhile and last I know the Intel's were the only drives to get.

I am doing some sleuthing of my own but I have to order it by EOD so any input would be appreciated!

I plan on using the drive as my primary OS drive on my main box below, which is mainly used for running VM's (the virtual disks will not be stored on the SSD), playing video games, and in general just having tons of apps open at the same time all day.

Thanks!

Hi!

Your current OS drive has a size of 150 GB. Does the SSD need to be as large or would 128 GB suffice?
(there are only very few SSD options @ 160 GB in the $200...$300 range on newegg right now...)

Edit: If 128 GB is fine, I'd go with a Crucial M4. This thing rocks even at SATA II (3 Gb/s) speeds.

I would get the C300 128GB version simply because the random 4k reads/writes are higher than the M4.
