Disabling Aero did not help. As soon as I hook up the 60Hz monitor, the Asus monitor gets horrible lag, ghosting, and the refresh rate seems to drop to 60Hz (could even be worse, it feels like it).
Two monitors:
1.
Samsung 1680 x 1050 60Hz
2.
ASUS VG248QE 1080p 144Hz (Using 120Hz lightboost hack though)
So I have my monitors on working perfectly but as soon as I drag some programs (Teamspeak, Winamp are apps I've noticed so far) into the 60Hz monitor, the refresh rate of the Asus...
You guys rock! Looks like I will OC the 920, pretty surprised I haven't done that yet. I will consider going with two GTX760s (I got way too excited typing that). Will probably upgrade RAM up from 6GB as well.
I am looking at upgrading my GTX 560 ti to a GTX 760 but I am worried that my i7-920 is going to be choking my system.
My motherboard is an EVGA X58, with socket 1366. So the best I can upgrade to is an i7-980.
So is an upgrade necessary or is the i7-920 still keeping up with today's...

That's a good price point for me. Anything will be an upgrade from my current 22" 1680x1050 5 year old monitor.
What I really mean is, am I missing a lot of quality in a monitor at this price level?
My desktop is in my bedroom and I want to stream online videos to my TV in the family room. 50 feet should be an adequate distance.
Is the best option for me THIS? I don't really want to pay that much.
Hey guys. I have a friend who was a big fan of Starcraft but have been out of gaming since he stopped playing and now that Starcraft 2 is coming out, he is up for getting a desktop for the game, and probably some others. He and I both think that the right PC for him is one that can max out...
Hey guys,
I have the free version of Avast. I was browsing some fishy websites, and I know this since Avast popped up telling me that stuff was getting blocked about 3 times, once was even a Trojan and I got outta there ASAP. That was earlier today. Afterwards, I was surfing with Chrome and...
Hey guys, I have the i7 920 running at the untouched 2.67 GHz. I pretty much just use the computer for high-end gaming. I have never overclocked before so it would take me a lot of extra time to learn and make sure I am doing everything right, since the penalty for messing up can be no fun...
Hey guys,
I'm going to my second year of college soon and in the middle of an overhaul. I just got a new computer and need some speakers and a headset. It's so sad to say goodbye to the four 20-lb speakers that my dad gave me (Klipsch ~30 years old) that I've been using (4 8" and 4 10"...
To make a long story as short as possible, I just got to college and bought a 22" LCD TV. I now miss my desktop computer too much and I am bringing it next semester. However, will the TV work with gaming? Here's a link:
