i would have thought most ppl have the game already between the amazon.com's thq bundle sale and the current humble bundle THQ pack.

Or the numerous times it has been a $5 sale at most gaming outlets...I think even a couple dollars on Steam a few times.

As well as all the games they keep adding to it seemingly every other day.
 
Had to click the Like, click reveal code, runs an app, then click Like again.
 
i liked and followed directions to allow app and reveal key. Still dont see it.
 
You could just pay $1 on the Humble Bundle and get you call kinds of games with Steam codes even.;)
 
i think i bought metro like 4 times though different collections all for very cheap. thq really giving this game out for cheap and now for free.
 
Never got a chance to try this, thanks for posting. I'm sure it'll give my 3930K + GTX 580 a nice work out.
 
Thanks! Got 2 of them, one for the kid & one for me. I never thought it was worth buying but for free, I'll take it.
 
It runs an app before showing you a reveal code? What the hell is this app it's running? I was going to try this after work, but I don't need some THQ promotional software on my machine.

BTW, it says something about downloading an .exe file and putting in the key...everyone probably already knows this, but you can just put it directly in Steam, you don't have to follow the directions on that page.

It's a Facebook app, not an app on your machine. When I run into these stupid things, I just set it so that "Only Me" can see stuff it may or may not post on my page. Plus, after you get the key you should be able to just disable/remove the app from Facebook.

Also, I noticed when I activated it on Steam, that it said "250k December give away". Glad I was one of those 250k :D

thank you, i didnt have it yet. apparently it's 250k copies according to the name of the promotion in the eula.
 
Ah, Metro 2033. To this day I still have to turn everything way, way down to get decent performance. However, unlike Crysis, when you turn this one down, the visual quality drops off big time. Sometimes I think they added DX11 features as sales bullet points more than true features that add anything of value.
It's a good deal for free, but not really a game I care to revisit.
 
Awesome, I'd bought the humble bundle and was dividing the codes amongst friends but it wasn't quite even... Now I can give them both Metro 2033. :D
 
I added the app but where do I find the key? it looks like an unfinished page to me.

But if you find the THQ Facebook page and hit Free Download tab, it'll take you to the Metro 2033 app page where you can redeem your key and download the game.

It's one of the better games in the last few years, I don't know how on earth you would think it not worth buying.
