Ok, I built my rig a few days ago from scratch...after it was all built and everything installed I put some games on it to test out its horsepower...ive been nothing but dissapointed and I really can't figure out what the hell is going on, here are some things that are bothering me that I can't figure out:
System specs:
Lga 2011 Assassin2 Motherboard
I-7 3960x PSU
EVGA Classified GTX 590 Video card
4 sticks of Corsair Vengeance DDR3 ram (16gb)
128GB OCZ SSD
1. I'm only getting like 60-80 FPS in WoW in cities and even dropping to 40 or 50 at times...100-120 inside instances with vsync off, with it ON I am getting 50-60 (I feel it should never hit 50)
2. I'm getting about 70-80 FPS in Crysis and it seems like theres some slowdown every now and then, also if I turn the camera really fast for a split second its a little blurry and then it becomes clear after the high resolution is rendered, wtf?
3. All games have excessive tearing and wave like effects due to this shitty monitor, but even with vsync off I feel I should NOT be going below 60fps with this setup.
4. Very low scores on benchmark tests, for example on 3dmark im getting around 9300 marks, whereas I see people with worse setups scoring much higher.
5. In these games I often ask other players what their FPS is and they're always getting massive numbers, for example if I ask anyone in WoW they're getting like 230 FPS with Gtx 580s and shit, why should I be getting so low and even dropping to 40-50 with a 590?
6. The Windows "Welcome screen" takes a long ass time (like 10-15 seconds) to boot up before it opens desktop, I feel with these specs I should be at my desktop in like 3 seconds after I turn on my computer, and I wrong?
I built this rig to have the best of everything money can buy as far as gaming hardware, and I have been nothing but dissapointed...I don't think any hardware is physically damaged as I have no knowledge of things like a video card "kind of" working, it either does or if it doesn't its apparent with shit like artifacts or BSOD, etc.
I have OCD and things like this really bother me, I want to make sure every part is working 100%, and I feel a setup like this should be performing like a champ with instant loading on everything and max fps with ultra settings at any game played....if anyone can help it would be much appreciated. preferably on AIM or something if not here. Thanks
