Just purchased a 3Tb Hitachi 7K3000 since I need to reduce the number of drives I'm using due to the SATA2 issue.
Installed it on one of the Intel 6Gb/s SATA3 ports and discover windows sees it as 746Gb ( 1 platter ? ).
Check the BIOS and it's 3Tb there, check the Intel Rapid Storage Technology software which also sees it as 3Tb. But Windows isn't having it.
So do the logical thing and swap it with a drive on the Marvel SATA ports, reboot and immediately it works.
Wondering whether this is an acknowledged issue and if it has a time frame to be fixed.
