Recently added a second screen to the set-up. Graphics card is a Zotac GTX 1080 FE using the HDMI for the primary screen and DVI for the secondary. on Bootup the splash screen etc appears on the secondary screen but once the windows screen loads it's back onto the primary.

The second monitor doesn't appear in device manager or in display settings.

I think that's because the DVI and HDMI outputs are electrically shared. In other words: you can't use both at the same time. I would check with Zotac support just to be sure. If that is truly the case then you could use a DisplayPort to HDMI converter/adapter/cable for your HDMI display and DVI for the other.

Before doing that, though, simply go the "Set up multiple displays" section in the NVIDIA control panel. If your displays are properly detected they will be listed here. Make sure both are checked and then choose the rest of your options. If that doesn't work try the Windows+P keyboard shortcut to cycle through the different multi-monitor options in Windows.
