Zotac 1080 ti amp extreme thermal pad issue

Has anyone tried to modify their thermal pads on this card? GN reviewed this card and mentioned that the stock pads are problematic so I was wondering what specific pads might work. Just generally curious if anyone thinks this is worth it?

Using better thermal pads are always a plus if it helps with temps. I don't see why not.
