Zipping files with XP?

I know windows XP can unzip files for you without any special software...is there any way to make zip files with XP?

Select items > right click > send to > compressed (zipped) folder

Although you will be better off from a compatibility and compression standpoint if you go with a more full featured compression program. Try WinRAR

7zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) is a good free alternative.

UltimateZip is a good one too; supports some more 'esoteric' formats than 7-zip

Another vote for WinRaR very handy program. I find the compress in wndows just like calling it a zip and not really doing anything to it.
