I think that's reasonably the only option they had seeing as there is no B550 availability yet and with only the "We'll support AM4 through 2020" to go on. I'm sure they'll put more disclaimers out there about how it's only "beta" support between now and launch, etc., but I think it's a good move.

I think the other somewhat interesting tidbit is that they say in #6 that this is the final pathway for the 400 series, but the general thinking is that this was the final CPU for AM4. Maybe they are planning on DDR4 for another generation?
