Should be about the same performance as tests have shown. It's much easier to apply though thanks to the applicator that comes with it.

If you want better, you need to look into the diamond based pastes.

If you're willing to believe the Russians AS5 is much better than the Zalman Paste. And then, like Riddlinkidstoner said, MX-1 paste is even better :D

***Note: If you look at that website and then think "Ok, I'm going to go buy the best one out there" and want to pick up the Cool Labratory's Liquid Pro you will not be able to use an Aluminum heatsink and you CAN NEVER UPGRADE YOUR PROCESSOR; it solidifies and that's that, or at least that's my understanding of it.

MX-1 can be purchased at http://www.epowerhousepc.com/arctic-cooling-thermal-compound-p-682.html

You can find the Shin-Etsu Thermal Compound over at http://www.petrastechshop.com/shg7thco1gr.html I don't know much about this except that in the review it cooled 1 Deg C better than the MX-1 compound I don't know if it's permanent like Cool Labratory's stuff or what.

I was looking for where you could purchase MX-2 as it recently came out and performs ~2 degrees better but I can't find it. I'll get back to you if I can find it.

Zalman's thermal paste is garbage. Good luck trying to find the MX-1 or MX-2 locally. Artic Silver 5 should be good enough.

AS5 will work fine IMO, just use that, who cares about 1 degress C when it could just be a fluke in the benchmark, just use AS5, tried and true

Baah, right. You will probably have to reseat and repaste the thermal of the Zalman 10 times before you get it close to the Artic temp. The artic took me just one try and that's all I need to get the temp better than the Zalman's thermal.
I don't understand this post. Are you saying that the Zalman thermal compound is difficult to apply? Since all you need to do is brush a bit on, I found it quite simple.
