Zalman CNPS9700 LED enough for a Q6600

It should be enough to get a lot out of it. It's by no means a match for the real monster coolers out there, but it's definitely a good one.

I have the 9700, and every time I try to give it another chance, it disappoints.

The idle temps are high, and it gets noisy when the fan speeds up during overclocks.

There are a few better choices out there; don't even hesitate and spend the extra $10 and get the Ultra 120 extreme; you have been warned.:p

Not looking to buy a new cooler as I already have the 9700 cooling my E4300

I've got the CNPS9500, so I'll let you know what my temperatures are once I get my Q6600 in a few days.

I have the 9700 on my qx6700. It does an ok jo at cooling. All cores stay around 48 degrees under normal usage. I have bought a 120 extreme from a member on [H] but it has not arrived yet. The cpu gets up to about 71 degrees during blend tests during prime 95. I also have my multiplier set to 12 and 4 gigs of dominator ram at 1066 and an 8800gtx so I have a lot of heat in my case already .Hope this helps.
