Zalman CNPS9500

I wonder how that Zalman compares to this Thermaltake when you put a fan on it?

i too agree that its unlikely that it beats water cooling the design is extremely similar to coolermasters hyper series and the thermaltake tower112 with a tornado the tower got 100F on my friends 1.9v 2600m athlon-xp i would expect similar performance level for this considering there is nothing but 6 heat pipes carrying the heat, and guess what both those heat sinks have: 6 heat pipes

Well with the 7000 that I have now my 2.8D is hittin 72C peak and 54C idle in 35C ambient.

I'd love to see how the 9500 would do in my case as the airflow is set up to take advantage of its design :) :)

Yeah i have a 570J but it only hits 62c load with a 7000alcu, i cant wait for this 9500!

according to quietpc .. they originally had it set for release on the 22nd of july .. now on their site it says sometime in august

yea that wat i thought.

I think this might be one of those sleeper releases where a LOT of people really dont know about the thing, as it gets put off...and finally released. Hopefully the wait will be worth it though. :D

I bet it's all hype.

We'll see...I'm either going with a shuttle for my next build...or a system that's at LEAST water cooled...might not get to try it out.

I already have a 3.8ghz chip...at stock. if i were to watercool, sell this chip for 500$, spend 200$ on WCing and 250$ on a chip, like 3.2ghz and get maybe 4ghz? its not worth it

lol hows 4.5~4.8 ghz on your current chip sound ;)
theres always room for more mhz, we never have enough power(in both senses, my pc draws 400 watts while gaming  ) good thing i got a 535 watt psu, i had a nasty feeling my 12v rails were nearly overloaded actualy, because it wouldnt boot with more voltage (dual 18 amp, overload trips at 20 amps to those that are curious)

yeah, seriously. i'm currently building a new comp piece by piece, and i was counting on this heatsink to come out 7/22. now, my computer is waiting for this ownage heatsink, and i will not result to stock heatsink!@#

I kno i found somewhere said it will be release somewat at the end of aug. I am unsure bout this so that's y i want to see if there's somebody can tell us bout this.

From QuietPC USA.com

It is mid-August. Late August is a next week.

looks like there isnt too much life left in heat sink innovation, time for alternate cooling methods or cooler cpus ;)

As for this 9500, 28c is GREAT for an air cooler in normal 'hot' conditions. (COld climates aside)

And as for cooler CPU's intel is showcasing its .45 nanometer process at this years IDF conference.

anyone know how this compares to the other HSF out their temp wise?hyper 6+ ,7700,x90

that review was not what i was expecting, decent cooling tho.......

hmmmm.....one up and one down. I bet more reviews will start coming out this weekend and thru next week.

Yeah...it looks really impressive (according to that review anyway). Now we can finally have watercooling-like temperatures for Dual Core Opterons. Now if only their insane prices would come down somewhat... :(

my water cooling with a 1.475v prescott and 1.4v 6800 gets cooler temps with a 87 cfm fan(about 45C idle 50 load before as5 break in) and the noise is minimal, quieter then 90% of pcs, i could always get another fan and slow them both down if i want perfectly silent.. pumps make noise my ass... if a laing d5 bothers you, you got problems

nice looking, good performing air cpu cooler tho no matter how you look at it

I am wondering if it will fit, with my 92mm fan over the ram.

Ramcooling1.jpg

Its taller, but more narrow. Probably no way of knowing unless I actually buy it, and try it. But I have to have active cooling on my ram...

ring zalman up, its a zalman fan bracket, atx spec calls for the pci slots to be made a certain way so the zalman dudes would know if it clears
