Any common reasons why the Zalman would be crapping out? The computer has been built and running for about 3 months. Now when I turn the computer on the fan on the Zalman wont kick on, sometimes it does sometimes it dont. After the computer powers up and gets into the OS it comes on. I have ASUS Probe running the fan monitor sometimes says its spinning at like 23,000rpm or something crazy like that. The blue LED on the Zalman I noticed got dimmer and dimmer the past few days also.

Well it's hard to tell exactly what the problem is.
It can be the unit itself is defective/broken, power pins are not contacting properly, defective motherboard, psu, etc etc.

Best way to make sure is to try on a different hsf.

try plugging the fan into a different header on ur motherboard.

quiet and cool is off

tried plugging the fan into the other chassis fan outputs on the board and its still acting sick

also i noticed one of the two front fans on the case is bad, wont work, i plug it in everywhere on the powersupply chain and its dead

i do have a crappy aspire 500w power supply which reads:
+12v = 11.8v
+5v = 4.94v
+3.3v = 3.312v
vcore = 1.39v

that doesn't seem all that bad tho.

my temps are CPU = 41* and MB = 40*

Aspire PSUs are garbage, get rid of it. Also, software voltage readings are meaningless.

the v readings were from the bios

temps are from the asusprobe software tho, yet bios says cpu=36* and mobo=40*
