Hello, this is a looooong shot. I was hoping someone might now where you can purchase this lovely little hardware mpeg2 tv encoder.

YUAN PVR MiniPCI MPC622-MCE
MiniPCI Hardware MPEG2 Encode with TV Tuner
http://www.yuan.com.tw/en/products/vdo_mpc622.html

As far as I can tell the same chip this uses is the one that is in the Hauppauge PVR-350. :) I know Media Portal has support for this MiniPCI device, and I'm sure other HTPC software probally supports it too.

Any help would be appreciated in obtaining a price quote.
Or more information about it, reviews, manuals, etc.

sorry, can't help you but I didn't want you to have tons of views with no replies. looks cool though. ;)

Hahaha. Yeah that's what I figure is going to happen. Posted this question a few other places. I've sent an email out to their sales department, hoping for a response.

Keep us posted on what you get back from sales. I think that would be perfect for my Chaintech IMO-Desk motherboard that is sitting in the closet. :D

That's freakin sweet! I didn't know mini-pci hardware cards existed

Yian tends to sell mostly in the Asia/European markets so it'll be hard finding one here in the States. The miniPCI card is based on their Falcon2 tuner cards which are based on the Blackbird reference design (no longer used any more) but it is not the same kind of chip used in the PVR250 cards (which is also pretty old and not really recommended due to all the bugs with it), quality is pretty much on par with Rosalyn, "PVR 250BTV" and PVR 250MCE cards so it's pretty good but you'll probably run into software incompatiblities.

If anyone wants to see something really cool then check this out. :)

Yup, I'll update if I get any information. :)

There is also the AverMedia M105 miniPCI hardware tuner.

Of course information is pretty skimpy as well. Evil OEM poo. :D

Avermedia tends to use cheap parts in their cards so the image quality isn't as good.
