9to5Google is reporting that YouTube is testing picture-in-picture on the web. The feature has been available on Android and iOS for a long time, allowing a floating video player so that users can continue browsing while they watch, and now a small subset of users has had this feature rolled out on PC as well. Surprised it took this long to bring the feature to computers, but updates to YouTube always seem very slow to materialize. One thing of note in the 9to5Google article, is that they are unsure if this feature is restricted only to YouTube Red subscription holders at this time. If rolled out to your account, you will be able to start a video and then click anywhere on YouTube — including returning to the homepage, performing a search, or viewing a channel. The audio will continue to play as a sizable floating window appears in the bottom-right corner of your screen.
