Again, one is discrimination against a class of people versus a class of content. Certain classes of people have CRA 1965 Title II protections where the baker would be in clear violation. Those Title II protections don't extend to content that person might create.

I bake red cupcakes. Red frosting, red cake. My name is Red. I've got red hair. My last name is Redd. Yep, Red Redd's House of Red.

You come in and ask for a blue cupcake. Sorry, I don't do that. Oh, you're gay? I don't care. I make red cupcakes. That's my choice. I'll sell you a red cupcake.

Oh, you want blue? You not just gay, you're muslim? (One of the few gay muslims who haven't been tossed of a roof by the muslims, that is.) Well, I don't care. Bully for you. I'll gladly sell you a red cupcake.

You STILL want blue? Despite the fact that the House of Blues is down the street? Yes, I agree that my cupcakes are better than theirs, but that's because they're Red Redd's Red Cupcakes.

So, you find a liberal/bent judge and they put me in jail for refusing to make what you want. I assume you're familiar with Orwell?

Now, had I refused to sell a Red cupcake to you because you were (insert you favorite non-white male protected class) then you'd have a case. At least, in a rational world. This world? Who knows anymore?

How about I call up Stephen King and demand he create content that I want? If he refuses, should he be jailed/fined? After all, he's a "creator". Why shouldn't I get to dictate what he creates?

Socialism is a very interesting illness.

But they do have the federal right to marry these days. That's actually a VERY important legal right for a protected class.

they can marry all day legally and gun owners can make videos legally.

but you don't have to allow them to use your business to advertise it.

because it's the same thing.

i'm done trying to explain this to you.

I honestly don't believe we have enough people in this country brave enough to over throw the government now.

If you're a coward you probably have a hell of lot less trust in the "brave" folks willing to overthrow the government.

I get the issue better than you do. I understand the concept of discrimination well. I've talked about this subject and the nuances and the differences between how it works with people versus private companies having to support speech when they don't etc. Not new subjects but the element of powerful social networking companies is a twist. That so few companies have such powerful platforms that are so easy to access by almost anyone, it's a hallmark of human freedom that's tempered by capitalism.

At any rate, I have a hell of lot more freedom to say on YouTube, FB, Twitter, etc. whatever I want that I do here. I'm not complaining I'm simply pointing out that freedom means that sometimes people will disagree with you.

you don't, you really don't

but thanks for the word salad.

Trust me I do. I appreciate freedom differently here than most. The freedom I enjoy wasn't a birthright even through my parents, it was a goddamned struggle for even the basics.

I turn 50 in a couple of months, so call it old man's disease, but I think a LOT of folks around here simply have no appreciate for well they have it.

Am I allowed to swear at YouTube here on this forum, because I really enjoy channels like ForgottenWeapons.com , and they are often sponsered by auction houses showing really cool old weapons that are for sale.

I don't remember when I signed up for my Youtube account, but it was way before Google bought it. Now? No more Google account, and no more YouTube.

Some things I just won't put up with.

Heh, interesting you said "federal right". The vaunted protected class idea. The right to create protected classes of people, usually decreed by judges out of thin air against the will of the people. A federal right for something that is not mentioned in the Constitution. Marriage is an equal right according to the 14th amendment apparently but the right to keep and bear arms, specifically mentioned in the Bill of Rights can be overridden by state or federal laws, according to the vaunted courts of America.

Anyone know of a good addon to download youtube vids for Firefox or another browser? Looks like I'm going to be grabbing a few GB of videos in the next 30 days.

No Politics
This is seriously bizarre. How does any human being with any empathy NOT CARE about innocent people getting their heads blown off? I thought all liberals were snowflakes now you say they are all sociopaths?

And this is dilemma of social networking. All the yelling and screaming and name calling and the rest but hey, any kind of restraint on anything and we're North Korea?

Take it down a notch.

>>I thought all liberals were snowflakes now you say they are all sociopaths?

In his defense, there is some evidence of that.

Liberal women see no problem with driving to the abortion clinic with a "Ban guns! Save the children!" picket sign in their back seat.

Yes, that's mental illness. And evil.

.

I get all of that but it took the concept of protected classes for me as a man to use mens bathrooms without exception.
