Your Porn Is Watching You

Not only is your porn watching you, it's tracking and storing your one-armed-web-browsing habits too.

But thanks to pervasive online tracking and browser fingerprinting, the brazen liars of America may not have a say in whether their porn habits stay secret. Porn watchers everywhere are being tracked, and if software engineer Brett Thomas is right, it would be easy to out them, along with an extensive list of every clip they’ve viewed.

Virtualbox, plus Mint Linux plus Netscape Private Mode. Completely isolated environment.

That's how I surf file sharing websites. Not concerned about the tracking, but it lets me surf the (tricky) website and open tar/zip's in a sandbox.

If engineer Brett Thomas is right, this could be a new attack vector for people who get their feelings hurt on the internet to try and go after your job and relationships with. At least that's what the language used in the quote sounds like. And it's a Vice article.

Unless you're some sort of puritan, though, why would anyone care that someone you know or work with watches porn? If you're human, you have an innate interest in sex, whether or not you outwardly admit to it or try to suppress it.

Exactly, who cares. Our society is so backwards when it comes to sexuality it's incredible.

Well, I tend to disagree.

I think our society and pop culture is horrendously over-sexed.

That being said, when it comes to porn, let he who is without sin cast the first stone :p

I agree with the pop culture, because that is using sex for the purpose of corporate profit. Freaking out over porn or whatever people like to do in the privacy of their own home is patently hypocritical.

This sounds like a great addon for those apps/websites ladies use to check up on dating prospects. Oh that guy who's interested in you likes to watch bronie pron.

Eh doesn't really tell the whole story. Context is everything. Il look at some weird shit and I don't hide it. It doesn't turn me on in the slightest, I'm just curious what weird shit people people create. With no context my browsing history would freak most people the fuck out. Mlp porn? Yep I've seen it, hentai yep, midget, yep.

And if they ask for anything in return not to they get charged with a felony in any of the 50 states for extortion.

True.

I see it as a method of character assassination of public figures and politicians, where digging up dirt is the name of the game.

Some superfeminists would care, you know the ones who get upset if men state any type of preference. I can easily see SJWs getting upset because some male candidate likes to watch rough sex.

The types of people who are offended at the very idea of pornography are experts a taking things out of context. Why you did it doesn't matter. All that matters is the fact that you did do it.

Too bad! Time to educate you. mlp is short for "My Little Pony", specifically "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic". The cartoon has a rather unexpected popularity among adult males, and as a result, Rule34 struck big time. If the idea of people getting off to cartoon horses makes you squeamish, just remember that humans have been engaging in real bestiality with real horses and other animals pretty much forever.

The more you know! :p

thing is, its over sexed because we still say OMG sex is bad!! so advertising with sex still turns heads. If we could accept sex as a normal life habit and stop treating it as taboo the marketing appeal of sex would go down a lot I think. No shock factor just makes it run of mill crap.

No shock factor just makes it run of mill crap.

Except that the reproductive instinct is a highly programmed priority, along with breathing, thirst, and hunger. Since food and drink are saleable, but air is not, that's why you see so many commercials and television shows devoted to food and cooking, and why restaurants are everywhere, along with various beverage selections. It will never be "run of the mill crap" because reproduction is an essential function for species survival. It's the instinct that marketing plays off of, not the actual act. Subconsciously, everyone wants to be perceived as a fit specimen, suitable and desirable to the opposite gender, and admired or feared by those of the same gender. It's biologically programmed, and advertising plays off of this. If it were not so, the cosmetics and so-called "beauty" industry would not exist. Even if pornographic content became standard on television the marketing would not be toned down.

Proof? Rap is full of pornographic lyrics, and as much as I despise it, its influence in pop culture is undeniable, and pop culture - especially aimed at blacks in America - has no shortage of this marketing strategy. I remember a commercial from .50 Cent talking about some kind of energy drinks, and taking his "shorties to the candy shop", and not wanting to lose his stamina and be like a "white dude". Obvious racist tones, to the point the commercial was eventually changed to "a wimpy little dude", but the implication either way is thus: "This product will make you like me - desirable, strong, and popular. Without it you'll be like that undesirable weakling over there."

More sexual content will not put the brakes on marketing because the psychology that "sex = profit" is not going to go away. If anything it will just make the marketing more obnoxious and overt because it will push the threshold back, and in order to get that attention factor they'll have to go even farther. This progression is visible if one studies cultural evolution from the beginning of television to today. What's permissible on TV today would have been inconceivable when television was first invented. The trend has been towards more explicit content, and more explicit advertising. Those who think America is sexually repressed haven't been around long enough to see how times have changed. Go find an octogenarian and ask them how things used to be, and what they think of how the country and the world have changed. You'll get an interesting education.

It wasn't me it was malware! ( . ) . ) <- it's watching you, get your mind out of the gutter.

Rule34. I should have guessed...

Then Jesus said, neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more.

Would my history of browsing craigslist for jems like "amputee looking for a guy to make love to the hole at the end of her leg stump" show up? Cause I'm pretty sure that's the craziest thing I've read. Thank god there were no pics.

I believe that is what is scientifically called "getting freaky."

My daughter(4) LOVES this show. I watch it with her on occasion and knowing that there is really a subset of porn dedicated to it makes me want to vomit and never let her watch it again, lol.

Then get familiar with your toilet and prepare to turn everything off. If it's a cartoon there is a porn of it, Heck there is a subset dedicated to porn of anything you can imagine. So get comfortable sitting in the dark.. probably a porn of that to though.

I've seen things that shouldn't be seen by anyone... ever.

Dude, where have you been? For example disney porn has been a thing since the internet porn has existed.

...not that i would know anything about it...

Someone already said it but who downloads porn. That's like having a stack of magazines under your bed

Rule 34 of the Internet: If it exists, there is porn of it.

I guess you'd better lock your daughter up in a hermetically sealed box the rest of her life with no access to any content from the outside world, then ;).

I agree sometimes. For some, it's oversexualized. For others, they get bashful when it's sexy time.

We can show sexy stuff, but we can't admit we do sexy stuff.

I don't want to see the porn... I watch MLP with my 18 month old in the mornings. It's not a bad show, but I'm not a fan that will go out of my way to watch it (I might stay and finish the episode because I want to know what happens, though...). MLP porn... Damn....

Although, when I used to babysit kids, Hannah Montana was still pretty big. So, I did get to watch a lot of that. Emily Osment could be good in a porn. :D

Don't let this ruin your time with your daughter, especially since she's ignorant of the Rule34 phenomenon. Let her be a child, let her laugh, let her be innocent. You'll only have this time together for a short while. Treasure it, and forget about the waiting world for a while.
