Your Laptop Picture [H]ere (read first post for rules please)

I don't get it, is it really transparent or is it just a picture taken and then used as a background?

Acer AS1810T. Specs in sig. Bought it to replace my Samsung NC10 netbook. Much more powerful: twice the CPU, virtualization support, 4x the RAM (twice after my upgrade), twice the hard drive, faster WiFi, faster GPU, a bit more battery life, but a third the warranty. I'm not thrilled with the Chiclet keyboard...but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

*edit*: Actually, I returned it in early December due to battery drain while unplugged and shut off. Further pictures have been removed.

how do you make the photos have deep colors like that with photoshop?

A combination of RGB color curve adjustment layers and selective color layers. You really just have to play around with it a bit for each individual photo. Making the shadows an off-black and making the highlights an off-white gives a picture depth and mood.

Look up cross processing on google for a few tutorials.

Picked up a mid 07 MacBook for $200 over the weekend.

Compared to the Acer AS1810T

Umm... thanks! The images were a little small, but I've managed to find (google) the desired one from the original file name. So all is well :)
Crazy smiley is pretty funny! Put it as background on my lappy also :D

You know than when you click them, they open up in 1920 x 1200, right?

Hmm... that is strange then. When I click they all open up in 240x150 (and saves in that same res too).

Anyway, like I said... all is well! Crazy smiley is smiling like crazey on my lappy screen :) (I'll put up a pic of it some time, when I get a camera)

That looks like Afghanistan? Seen a similar shot from a mate of mine who was over there this year (going back next year) where their laptops were dusty as hell too!

I love it so much, given to me as a Valentine's Day present from my lady in 2009:) Currently running Ubuntu 9.10
