Your greatest overclocks of all time!!!!

My biggest overclocks were on intel plats.

P4 1.8 A to 2.53
P4 2.4C to 3.4
Q6600 @ 3.2 Ghz
2600K @ 4.8 Ghz (forgot what was stock clock lol)
5930K @ 4.6 Ghz (forgot what are stock clocks)

AMD platform I think I only bought once or twice. One I remember was:

AXP 3200+ that clocked to 4000+ equivalent (don't remember actual clocks)

Celeron 300A to 450Mhz

50% performance increase with nothing more than some graphite pencil lead :)

Q6600 @ 3.8GHz (stock 2.4GHz) - 59% increase
i7 930 @ 4.5GHz (stock 2.8GHz, turbo 3.06GHz) 61% increase (47% increase over turbo).

I had a Vapochill once upon a time and an Intel P4 2.4c chip that I ran at 3.6ghz .. I don't remember the motherboard though. That was fun ... I sold it to a fellow forum member who couldn't get it to run stable at that speed .. he sent it back and it wasn't in any protective covering and bent up all the pins .. I couldn't get it to run at 3.6ghz either when I got the chip back. Took awhile to straighten out all the pins .

Got a cheap tri-core AM3 Athlon up to 4GHz on the three cores. Worked stable for the year or so I used it.

Unfortunately I have not been blessed when it comes to the silicon lottery till now. I have a Ryzen 1700 which comfortably hits 3.9 at 1.337 (1.35 with droop), which is a whopping 900mhz over stock. I could push for higher, the chip looks like it has more in it, but I have lowered it to [email protected] for sheer power consumption reasons.

athlon 64 1.8->3.0 ghz. 66% performance increase! as nice as the 2500k was when it could be jacked to 5.0ghz, it still wasn't as nice as the athlon 64 at the time.
