i've been using the nero 6 ultra suite for the longest time. now i need the community to recommend me something new i can use in vista 64. cost is no option but freeware recommendations are always welcome Looking to convert bluray and hd dvd to h264/mp4.

+1 for AnyDVD HD. I use handbrake as well, it's cross-platform. PC & Mac

i've already been using any dvd hd to copy. so it seems everyone is in agreement that ripbot264 is ideal for converting to h264?

dvd shrink, hddvddecrypter. They have always worked for me for ripping. I do not encode to other formats.

For HD movies AnyDVD, fed into TS Muxer, or for reducing filesizes, into Handbrake
For DVDs, AnyDVD or DVD Fab fed into Handbreak.

Basically once the DRM is off, you can feed blu ray M2TS files into mostly anything. If it's not the case, then I send it to TSMuxer and remove all the extra audio/video streams and mux into .ts
After that, then I feed it into basically any x264 frontend GUI. Figure out my settings and transcode.
