In order to opt out of Facebook's new targeted ads you are going to need to update your privacy settings again. It's fairly straightforward, click on "settings," scroll down to "see more settings," then click on "ads" and change the new ad setting to "no." That's it, you are all done.

Instead of just selling ads on Facebook, or on Facebook platforms (like WhatsApp and Instagram), Facebook is now selling ads everywhere, to everyone, whether or not you have a Facebook account. If you do have a Facebook account, though — like 1.6 billion other humans do — Facebook will also use your Facebook data to sell those ads.

And yet another reason to not have a Facebook account....

Does anyone really believe the Facebook privacy settings matter? They are make-believe for the kind of person who is conflicted enough to both care about privacy and have a Facebook account.

Just another reason to not use it. I've never used the thing and never missed it. Talk and hang out with your real friends.

Or an Apple phone, Android phone, Google anything account, any free email account etc etc etc.

I don't have a FB account anymore BTW.
