You can watch 'Star Trek: Picard' for free right now thanks to Patrick Stewart

Have to sign up for a subscription to get a free month and cancel from the looks of it.

Sorry, not giving them my CC, so I can jump through the cancellation hoops.

So is this a regular trial, or you can lliterallly only watch that one show with the code? It is not clear from the text.

Regular trail as best I can tell. I started signing up till it wanted my CC, and inserted the coupon code GIFT and it still wanted my CC to finish my registration. Yeah, no. I’m not interested in all these one off little island subscriptions. Not gonna do it.

Good question. Probably just savvy marketing, notice how the code expires. Reminds me of the countdown timer on NordVPNs page showing 9hours 39minutes. That "special" has been running for years.

I understand if Boomer does not want to enter a cc, but that's how all the free trials work. 🤷

Good luck trying to watch anything right now haha. "Unfortunately an error has occurred." Guessing they got more traffic than they bargained for at least temporarily.

No, its how most free trials work. And thus why people complain about them either because they forget to cancel and get charged or they cancel and get charged anyway and have to fight with the credit card company and the charging company to get their money back. That or when you go to cancel said free trial before the charging date, you have to spend over an hour on the phone to get the cancellation to go through.

COVID-19, the "gift" that you (emphasis) keep on giving after the gift. True about the virus, true about all the "benevolent" service providers.

The cancellation on this one is very straight forward. I've already been there and done that.

For anyone with a currently active sub you can get a free month as well. Just try to cancel your sub and they will offer it to you.

No hoops to jump through. Account > Click on Cancel. Click check box and "Yes, Cancel". Done. Pretty simple process.

I’ve never had a free 30 day trial that didn’t require proof of payability. whether it was Netflix, Hulu, Stars, Cinemax or HBO Go.
ymmv

As for people to lazy to cancel in 28 days, well, I can’t fix that And caveat emptor...

I jest, but the proliferation of streaming services has made torrent sites all the busier.

Yes, ymmv. That was my point. Things are better these days in the internet era though in that its usually easy to cancel these things via website. Until it isn't and you have to call someone. Then its worse. Its been 15 years but I still remember that AOL phone operator desperately trying to get me to stay on with them and their "aol for broadband" plan. It took a damn hour and two calls to get confirmation. A week later I got the paper version in the mail.

The aol agent got real salty when I responded to his question about what do I use the internet for with "porn".

If anyone was/is having trouble streaming with a roku device... Like I was, you gotta add a few domains to your whitelist if you are running pi-hole. The 1 month free trial comes complete with limited commercials lol.

This. I automatically ignore "trials" that ask for payment details. That is not a trial, that is a regular subscription where they charge you after the billed period, not before. As all phone and cable services usually do.
It's false advertising calling it a trial, it would be a trial if you had to opt in after the first month and not opt out. Which they are banking on that you'll forget, or do too late.

when i started watching the series, it seemed like i had seen the chick that plays soji before. she's you know, attractive. so finally I figured out who i thought she was. if you want to know google (*warning* nsfw) - izi ashley xvideos
coincedence that the star trek actress' real name is isa? could her nickname be isi or izi?
edit: maybe her sister?

FYI, normally on these services if you sign up for the free month and cancel immediately, they will still keep it active for the month (in case you start liking it and end up renewing is their hopes)
