I am currently running two 670's in SLI, and although the performance is still acceptable in most situations, I would like to go to a single card setup as it seems that SLI support has become more an issue as time goes on. I was looking at a 1070 Zotac AMP card at my local computer shop, but they said that the card would be severely bottle-necked by my older processor, and that I would be better off to put my money towards buying a Skylake based system with a 5820 and to then upgrade my video card down the road. They said that with my slow processor I am more limited by my CPU than video card at the moment, and that I would see more of a boost in games with a CPU / motherboard upgrade than a GPU upgrade. The games I play are mainly flight sims and FPS shooters, and I also use my machine for a lot of 3D rendering work. Any suggestions on which upgrade route to go? Would I be wasting my money on a video card upgrade? Any one with a 3930K upgraded to one of the newer 10 series, and if so - what has been their experience?
