The 7.1 isn't bad. But that model 5.1 has sold for $149/new/shipped over the holidays. The newer edition 473 is $240 at Amazon (or was?).

The RX-V473 is a nice receiver overall and given Yamaha's repuation, it should literally last a lifetime. It will be a bit uderpowered for a larger room and video processing is average for that range of receiver. Due to the relatively low power output (80WPC), a powered subwoofer is recommended.

As noted in the other thread, you get 81.3WPC 2 channels driven at .1% THD for the 473, the 573 is similar....(you can make this assumption based upon actual product weight 17.9lbs vs 18.2lbs for the RX-V573).

If you need multi-channel input, look elsewhere (like the RX-V6XX series or higher)
