Yahoo buys ASE

The second critical component of Yahoo!'s planned initiative is its new partnership with video games website GameSpot (part of CNET Networks). This will give visitors to Yahoo! Games access to the latest news, previews, and reviews, as well as an expansive database of game demos, trailers, walkthroughs, screenshots, game guides. Yahoo! Games will also continue to provide its own exclusive editorial content.

Bah, and ASE was good too :(

All Seeing Eye = Game server browser. Like samespy arcade bu, bloat free. (atleast for now....)

I hope I don't need a Yahoo account to use ASE from now on. I hate Yahoo :|

i never understood the concept of paying someone else to arrange online games.
I mean a game should come with a decent functional built in game browser.

Its not so much as paying to use their software, as it is free. But, supporting them. (Atleast to me)

From what I gather yahoo ids are needed to login to chat.

Agreed, I never use third-person browsers.

It's more to keep track of what your friends are playing and the ability to join in on the games. It's not so much that you need a seperate browser, as it is more of having an inclusive game browser.
