Ok, I feel like a nub asking this, but I've always wondered why sometimes there are x's instead of numbers when people post stuff. For example if someone said "Yeah, I bought this for $100", it would show up as "Yeah I bought this for xxx"...it's confusing :-S.

I have no idea what you're talkin about...

and this is probably not the best forum to post it in.

Completely random idea: This reminds me of when I used to browse the web in school when they used web filtering software. The software could be set to filter out websites or key words on a page. Thus, expletives would become xxx's. Sometimes the filter would mess up and block language that wasn't expletives. Are your running software like this? Just a thought.

When someone says they bought an item for
$4X5
that mean could mean 405,415,425,435,445.. etc u get the idea

someone says i bought it for $27X that could mean 271, 272, all the way till 279.. get it?

if not.. end yourself NOW

This isn't what he's talking about. The entire value is made up of X's. I think you're the one that needs to end yourself.

And yes, at newegg they censor prices because they always change. If the price ends up being higher than what the person said, then people would beg newegg to match that price, I'd imagine.

Well said robberbaron, and thanks for your help.

It just means I forgot what the xxxx I was thinking about. If I don't know the exact number I got on a score, I would say 19,453 as 19,xxx or 19,4xx. Since I didn't write it down, and don't want to redo the test, and it's close enough for govenment work.
