XP2400-M overclock, record and first to 3GHz??

12.5x200 right now, 1.80 volts...for some reason I got stepping AQYFA0343WPMW, which is really weird as thats an old stepping and everyone else got new ones...bastards. 2500 mhz is awesome though 
this is being cooled by an SK-7 with a fucking loudass YS TECH fan, i so cant wait for my WC system (stupid 2 days of leaktesting though).
and now prime95 has an error.
time to bump the voltage and curse newegg for this stepping.

No offence meant, but he bought a prommie, he didn't "build" his phase change like everyone is saying. It's the same thing as putting your HSF on. Money and luck is all it took to get that, just about everyone is going to get the same clock speed with the same equipment.
Again, I don't mean any offence by this, he has an uber fast system regardless of how he got it, but I consider this to be like buying a pre-mod case opposed to modding a case. You can do anything with the right amount of money.

well 2500 failed prime so I reduced it to 2400 at 1.8 volts...its been stable in prime95 so far, will be running it all today and tomorrow to see. god damn this ys tech fan is making my ears bleed. i should probabily cut the hole for my rad ASAP so I can get the fucker in my system FAST

What are you high? He said (stagman) that he was using a prommie that a friend lent him.
Well don't feel left out kronchev, I have the same stepping and am getting very similair results with a SLK947U and 92mm fan. Too be perfectly honest though, I am pretty happy with 2400mhz. But I would love to have 2500+. I am still testing though.

i'm in the same boat myself fellas, same stepping, similar limits etc. [H]member doh-nut has the same one as well. We might have the bum stepping here
(sig is not updated btw)Well, does anybody have reports of a place selling the IQZFA's or the IQYFA steppings? If we could find a good place too get these steppings we should be able to get more out of them than what we have now. Again, I really not that dissapointed, but my need for speed is insatiable.

No idea but i may just wait a week and order another from newegg. They were handing out nice newer steppings two weeks ago. Now these older ones have resurfaced(?) Seems like every 2400+M recieved in the past week has been an 0343
Wow, there are some haters here. If you don't like phase changing, that's great. It takes skill to apply it. I however don't think that 3 ghz is really anything because it isn't stable. I have gotten my 2500+ barton up to 2.95 ghz at 2v, but it gets into windows, freezes, then reboots. I have a week 17 Barton as well.

If someone using a phase changed to cool his OC isn't hard enough for you, how about you throw away that run-of-the-mill, bought at newegg cooling and strip an old freezer for your computer, ya friggin' blowhard?

I made a thread about that a long time ago. It was like 4 pages long and full of lots of 'that isn't possible', 'you are stupid for this idea', and 'it won't work'. Add in some bad spelling, grammar, lack of punctuation, mix, blend, repeat, and you have the thread.
I still haven't had the time or money to do that yet.
I'd love to do a sub zero cooling setup, but I have 6 computers to apply this cooling to... Might take a LOT of work and an industrial freezer...damn nice stang - that is a h311a OC.
as for the know-it-nothings that think that buying phase change and hooking it up is all there is to getting a great OC with a prommie (or any other phase change system) it is more than obvious that your experience with phase change is looking at pics of it on the nVentiv website. you do not get OCin' like that without tweaking a helluva lot more than just the cooling.
as for the cost of phase change, you don't have to have a name tag on the front of yer box to use it nor do you have to have a ton of cash - try using your energy to haul yer @$$es out to walmart to buy a $90 window unit and convert it over to direct die instead of minimizing the OCing work of others. The change over can work better than most of the $1000 plus factory built ones...trust me.
that was the first test run of a r22 system pulled out of a window shaker before it was tweaked to max cooling -- it cost less than several of premade watercooling kits that are on the market.
