XP: Wifi dongle & Bluetooth dongle not same time??

ok odd issue and one I don't fully understand

I got asked this from a mate at work
He has a USB wifi dongle and uses MS's zeroconfig service to manage it ( the supplied app is crap!). HOWEVER whenever he plugs in his Bluetooth dongle his wireless gets turned off and disabled

even after a reboot wireless is still down and he has to go into the wireless applet and enable it (then its all good)


I have asked him to try using different USB slots (thinking it could be that both dongles on one USB controller and its having a fit... but it shouldn't)

I have never come across this so have no idea where to start with this
 
IIRC some of these wifi cards have an option in their driver called bluetooth collaboration (at least with some linksys wireless pc cards). Try going to network settings, bring up the properties dialog for your wireless card, and select configure. Go to advanced and see if your card has that option. It may or may not work.
