XP/Vista Dual boot and "system restore" etc

Hello,

I have Vista and Windows XP pro running on a 250 gig Hard drive. however, whenever I boot to vista or XP, i lose my system restore settings, and my virus (AVG) amongst other things (out of date spyware etc) is Always out of date. Can I use both XP and Vista as if they were on two seperate "physical drives"?.

Not sure what other problems are caused by Dual boot, but Sytem restore is the bigger problem:(
 
I'm not sure about your other issues, but it seems quite a few people have System Restore issues on a dual boot system. An easy fix is to simply disable it. Aside from the fact it rarely seems to work, most malware vendors recommend disabling it completely anyway.
